CORONIAL CASES — BACKLOG

1167. Hon ALISON XAMON to the Leader of the House representing the Attorney General:

I refer to the appointment of an additional coroner at 0.5 FTE for 2019–20 and to the backlog of 497 coronial cases at 30 June 2020, an increase of 39 cases compared with 2019.

(1)  Given the still increasing backlog, will the government continue to fund the extra judicial resource?

(2)  If no to (1), why not?

POLICE — MISCONDUCT CLAIMS

1148. Hon ALISON XAMON to the minister representing the Minister for Police:

I refer to the answer to my question on notice 3198 answered on 20 October about civil legal claims against WA police officers from 2015–16 to 2019–20.

(1)  How many police officers were the subject of successful civil claims against them?

(2)  How many officers from (1) were —

(a)  stood down;

(b)  sanctioned; or

EAR BUS PROGRAM

I refer to page 312 of the WA state budget 2020–21 and “Election Commitments—Continuation of Ear Bus Program”.

(1)  Why has no funding been allocated for this program in the forward estimates?

(2)  Will the McGowan government commit to funding this program beyond 2021?

(3)  If no to (2), why not?

I refer to the expected increase of more than 2 000 dwellings and 3 000 residents throughout the Subi East precinct.

(1) Has any modelling been done on the predicted number of additional primary school–aged students this development will bring to the area?

(2) Does the minister anticipate that a new primary school will be required in the area?

PLANNING — BUSH FOREVER

1097. Hon ALISON XAMON to the minister representing the Minister for Planning:

I refer to the answer to my question without notice 1523 about the Bush Forever initial audit, which has been outstanding for five years and is now stranded in the stalled strategic assessment of the Perth and Peel regions.

(1)  Will the minister commit to publishing the information related to the Bush Forever audit outside of the SAPPR process?

(2)  If yes to (1), when?

SCHOOLS — WORKING WITH CHILDREN CHECKS

3153. Hon Alison Xamon to the Minister for Education and Training:

(1)  Does the Department keep records of Working with Children Check (WWCC) cards of instrumental teachers and other peripatetic staff who give private lessons in schools?

(2)  If no to (1), why not?

(3)  If yes to (1), do all peripatetic teachers have a valid WWCC card or application inprogress?

(4)  If no to (3), why not?
