KEEPING WOMEN SAFE IN THEIR HOMES PROGRAM

HON ALISON XAMON (North Metropolitan) [5.32 pm]: I rise tonight to make some comments about what has happened with funding for the Keeping Women Safe in their Homes program. For members’ information, the program was initiated in 2015 when Rosie Batty was Australian of the Year. It was part of a $100 million women’s safety package that the commonwealth government announced to take action against family violence. The Keeping Women Safe in their Homes program was part of that package.

Discharge of Order and Referral to Standing Committee on Legislation — Motion

(1)  That order of the day 21, Residential Tenancies Legislation Amendment (Family Violence) Bill 2018, be discharged and referred to the Standing Committee on Legislation for consideration and report by no later than Thursday, 22 November 2018; and
