SHENTON PARK REHABILITATION HOSPITAL REDEVELOPMENT SITE — BUSHLAND CLEARING — LEMNOS STREET

HON ALISON XAMON (North Metropolitan) [6.20 pm]: As members would be aware, I have spoken quite a number of times on the issue of the Shenton Park Rehabilitation Hospital site. There are some additional developments that I will speak to tonight. There is a general agreement that the patch of bushland that we are talking about is a threatened ecological community because it contains banksia woodland.

I refer to tabled paper 1189 in which the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions provided strong advice regarding the treatment of banksia woodland threatened ecological communities in relation to the clearing application for the Shenton Park Rehabilitation Hospital site, and I note that the agency provided no comment at all on the same clearing required for the subdivision application currently before the WA Planning Commission. Why did the DBCA not provide comment —
