FISHERIES — ABALONE — FINE SILTS

1381. Hon Alison Xamon to the minister representing the Minister for Fisheries:

I refer to the Roe Abalone fisheries found on inshore reefs and near islands in the Perth metropolitan area, and I ask:

(a)  has the Department of Fisheries conducted research into the effect of fine silts on abalone respiration, reproduction and recruitment;

(b)  if no to (a), why not; and

FISHERIES — ABALONE STOCKS

1382. Hon Alison Xamon to the minister representing the Minister for Fisheries:

I refer to abalone stocks in Western Australia, and I ask:

(a) is the Minister aware that:

(i)  abalone stocks in the reef to the north of Two Rocks marina collapsed after the construction of that facility;

(ii)  abalone stocks immediately north of the existing Ocean Reef harbour breakwater collapsed after the construction of that facility;

Infill planning for Subiaco must meet community expectations: Greens

Greens Member for North Metropolitan Region Hon Alison Xamon MLC has warned distrust in the State planning system will continue to grow, if infill targets are applied without full community engagement and sound strategic planning.

Ms Xamon said people in the City of Subiaco – as well as the City of Nedlands – were outraged at the heavy-handed way the WAPC has amended Local Planning Scheme consultation documents to greatly increase R-codes across substantial portions of their Cities. 

ENVIRONMENT — METROPOLITAN REGION SCHEME AMENDMENT 1308/41

1377. Hon Alison Xamon to the Minister for Environment:

I refer to the Environmental Protection Authority’s (EPA) advice to the Department of Planning regarding MRS Amendment 1308/41, East Wanneroo Structure Plan Area provided as part of EPA reference CMS14142, and I ask:

(a) could the Minister please specify which Threatened Ecological Communities (TEC) exist in the amendment area:

(i) for each TEC, could the Minister please specify the number of sites and size of each site;

TRANSPORT — PRINCIPAL SHARED PATH NETWORK — COTTESLOE

1307. Hon Alison Xamon to the minister representing the Minister for Transport:

I refer to the section of missing principal shared path in Cottesloe between the Grant Street and North Fremantle train stations, and I ask:

(a)  in the absence of a shared path, will the Minister please give details of the route recommended by Department of Transport for people on bikes travelling between the two stations on their way further north or south;
