LAW REFORM COMMISSION — “THE INTERSECTION OF THE FAMILY LAW AND CAVEAT SYSTEMS IN WESTERN AUSTRALIA” DISCUSSION PAPER

511. Hon Alison Xamon to the Leader of the House representing the Attorney General:

I refer to the Law Reform Commission’s report into the intersection of the family law and caveat systems in Western Australia, and I ask:

(a)  does the Government support all nine recommendations made by the Law Reform Commission;

(b)  if no to (a), which recommendations are not supported;

(c)  for each recommendation not supported, why is it not supported; and

POLICE — STREET DRINKING

430. Hon Alison Xamon to the minister representing the Minister for Police:

I refer to the Coroner’s recommendation that Parliament consider the abolition of the power to arrest and detain an intoxicated person for street drinking where the police officer reasonably suspects the person will continue street drinking unless the person is arrested, and I ask:

(a)  does the Government support this recommendation;

(b)  if no to (a), why not;
