297. Hon ALISON XAMON to the parliamentary secretary representing the Minister for Mental Health:
I refer to the mental health accommodation strategy currently being developed by the Mental Health Commission.
(1) Will a draft version of the strategy be made available for public consultation?
(2) If yes to (1), when and what will be the length of the consultation period?
(3) If no to (1), why not?
(4) When does the minister expect the strategy will be finalised?
Hon ALANNA CLOHESY replied:
I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question.
(1) The draft “Western Australian Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drug Accommodation and Support Strategy 2018–2025” will be released for public consultation.
(2) It is anticipated that the strategy will be released in the second half of 2018 for an eight-week consultation period.
(3) Not applicable.
(4) Contingent on the outcome of the consultation, it is currently expected that the strategy will be finalised by the end of 2018.
