BUNBURY HOSPITAL — CONSULTANT LIAISON SERVICES

192. Hon Alison Xamon to the parliamentary secretary representing the Minister for Health:

I refer to consultation liaison services at St John of God Bunbury Hospital, and I ask:

(a) how much dedicated psychiatric nurse FTE was allocated to the consultation liaison service:

(i) as at 1 July 2016; and

(ii) as at 1 July 2017;

(b) how much dedicated psychiatrist FTE was allocated to the consultation liaison service:

(i) as at 1 July 2016; and

(ii) as at 1 July 2017; and

(c) how much dedicated registrar FTE was allocated to the consultation liaison service:

(i) as at 1 July 2016; and

(ii) as at 1 July 2017?

Hon Alanna Clohesy replied:

I am advised that:

St John of God Bunbury Hospital is a privately run hospital. The WA Country Health Service is unable to provide any information on staffing arrangements for consultation liaison services at St John of God Bunbury Hospital.

In regards to consultation liaison services at Bunbury Hospital:

(a) The dedicated psychiatric nurse FTE allocated was:

(i) 3.21 FTE as at 1 July 2016.

(ii) 3.21 FTE as at 1 July 2017.

(b) (i) – (ii) There is no dedicated psychiatrist allocated to the consultation liaison service. A psychiatrist funded by Mental Health Service is available on call overnight.

(c) The registrar is allocated to the Acute Psychiatric Unit. The dedicated senior medical practitioner FTE allocated was:

(i) 1. 0 FTE as at 1 July 2016.

(ii) 1.0 FTE as at 1 July 2017.
