2240. Hon Alison Xamon to the parliamentary secretary representing the Deputy Premier; Minister for Health; Mental Health:

I refer to page 269 in the 2019–20 State Budget, delivering on government priorities and election commitments, paragraph 5, prescribing medicinal cannabis, and I ask:

(a)  what has the Government done in this regard; and

(b)  has this seen a corresponding uptake in numbers of people being able to access prescribed medicinal cannabis as appropriate?

HON ALISON XAMON (North Metropolitan) [9.07 pm]: I rise as the lead speaker on behalf of the Greens to indicate that we are also very happily supporting the Police Amendment (Medical Retirement) Bill 2019. I agree with the previous speakers who have indicated that it is not before time that we are finally looking at this amendment.
