HON ALISON XAMON (North Metropolitan) [1.01 pm]: I present a petition containing 50 signatures couched in the following terms —
Hon Alison Xamon spoke today regarding the EPA’s recent decision to approve the Ocean Reef Marina development.
“I recognise that a marina project in this area has been highly anticipated by the community for a number of years,” she said, “however, we need to ensure that the very best environmental standards are applied.”
The Marina development will be taking place on Bush Forever Site 325 and in the Marmion Marine Park.
Greens Member for North Metropolitan Hon Alison Xamon MLC has renewed her call for urgent reform to the planning system, following the “extraordinarily disappointing saga” of the Shenton Park Rehabilitation Hospital site development approvals process.
Speaking in Parliament this week, Ms Xamon said the community had fought a committed campaign to save the ecological linkage between Underwood Avenue and Shenton Park Bush Forever sites, only to lose out at the final stage of the process.
HON ALISON XAMON (North Metropolitan) [9.48 pm]: I rise because I want to bring the attention of this house, yet again, to what has happened with the ecological linkage between the Underwood Avenue and Shenton Park Bush Forever sites, which I have spoken about several times in this place. I refer to the Shenton Park Rehabilitation Hospital site redevelopment, which is also known as the Montario Quarter.
1333. Hon ALISON XAMON to the minister representing the Minister for Planning:
I refer to the Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority’s commitment, reported in The West Australian of 21 March 2018, to publish the agenda and minutes of MRA meetings.
(1) Have the minutes of the meeting approving the 3 Oceans Tower in Scarborough been published?
(2) If yes to (1), where are those minutes available?
(3) If no to (1), why not?
