CORRECTIVE SERVICES — ABORIGINAL VISITORS SCHEME

174. Hon Alison Xamon to the minister representing the Minister for Corrective Services:

I refer to the Aboriginal Visitors Scheme, and I ask:

(a) how many FTE are employed in the Aboriginal Visitors Scheme;

(b) how many individual staff are employed in the Aboriginal Visitors Scheme; and

(c) for each Aboriginal visitor, please advise which prison or detention centre they currently visit?

I refer to the Assault Public Officer (Prescribed Circumstances) panel.

(1) Is any consideration being made to abolish this panel?

(2) If yes to (1), why?

(3) If yes to (1), when will a decision be made?

(4) If yes (1), is a new process being developed to determine whether to proceed with a charge of assault against a public officer occasioning bodily harm?
