DISABILITY SERVICES ACT — REVIEW

1153. Hon ALISON XAMON to the Minister for Disability Services:

I refer to the Disability Services Act 1993.

(1)  Does the minister plan to review the act?

(2)  If yes —

(a)  what is the intended time frame for review;

(b)  who will be consulted; and

(c)  will the minister please table the terms of reference for the review?

Hon STEPHEN DAWSON replied:

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question.

(1) Yes.

(2)        (a) The scope and timing of the review is yet to be determined.

 (b) When the review is undertaken, wide consultation with a variety of internal and external stakeholders will occur.

(c) Not applicable, as the terms of reference are yet to be determined. When developed, the document will be made publicly available.
