There is no place for gender discrimination in our society. The Greens have a long and proud history of standing up for Australian women. Alison and the Greens believe in equality for all women in all aspects of life and are committed to seeing these values reflected in our laws and society.
All women have the inalienable right to be free from violence. Alison will continue to advocate for the provision of high quality support services for women experiencing domestic violence, including legal assistance and sufficient places in appropriate refuges (See also Family and Domestic Violence).
The Greens believe all women should have access to family-friendly workplaces, flexible hours and affordable child-care. Alison will continue to stand up for a woman’s right to choose and access free, confidential publicly funded women’s health services.
Alison is committed to ensuring all women receive equal pay for equal work and have equal opportunity to succeed in male-dominated industries. There is significant work to do in this area, with Western Australian women continuing to experience the largest pay gap in Australia. (See also Pay Equity)
