HON ALISON XAMON (North Metropolitan) [6.19 pm]: I rise to acknowledge that WA has done one of the best jobs in the world of dealing with the public health impacts of COVID-19. We have seen people’s trust and approval in government at both federal and state levels rise dramatically as a result. I have to say that was partially because it has been, I think, very clear that governments have been acting in the best interests of people and not corporations.

HON ALISON XAMON (North Metropolitan) [10.05 pm]: I want to say a few more words about a matter on which I asked a question of the Minister for Education and Training today—that is, the issue of what is happening with our rural boarding schools. I thank the minister for the answer to the question and also thank her office, which has been speaking to my office on this matter once it was brought to my attention by a parent whose children attend boarding school in Perth.
