North Metro Issues

LED STREETLIGHTS

915. Hon ALISON XAMON to the minister representing the Minister for Energy:

I refer to the installation of 4000 kelvin correlated colour temperature light-emitting diode streetlights across Perth by Western Power.

(1)  In which suburbs have these streetlights already been installed?

(2)  Would the minister please table the rollout plan for these streetlights; and, if not, why not?

LED STREETLIGHTS

872. Hon ALISON XAMON to the minister representing the Minister for Energy:

I refer to the recommendation of the American Medical Association and the Institute of Public Works Engineering Australasia that light-emitting diode streetlights in residential areas should be at correlated colour temperature of 3000 kelvin or below and to the rollout of 4000K LED streetlights in Mt Claremont and other suburbs.

COASTAL EROSION — NORTH METROPOLITAN REGION

HON ALISON XAMON (North Metropolitan) [10.01 pm]: I want to make some comments about an issue that has been mentioned in the media a fair bit lately—the erosion of our coastlines. This is particularly an issue for me, being a member for North Metropolitan Region, because a number of beaches in my region are under particular risk. I want to speak about an element of this discussion that keeps getting overlooked; that is, what will happen with our Bush Forever sites in coastal areas, particularly along the north metropolitan coastline?

OCEAN REEF MARINA — BUSINESS CASE

781. Hon ALISON XAMON to the minister representing the Minister for Lands:

I refer to the summary business case for the Ocean Reef Marina, which was expected to be publicly available in October 2018, but was still being developed in November 2018.

(1)  Has the full business case for this project been completed?

(2)  If yes to (1), when was the business case completed?

(3)  If no to (1), can the minister please advise when this is likely to be completed?

OCEAN REEF MARINA — COASTAL EROSION

748. Hon ALISON XAMON to the minister representing the Minister for Planning:

I refer to the City of Joondalup’s mapping of coastal hazard areas that shows a large proportion of Bush Forever site 325 from Hillarys Boat Harbour through to Ocean Reef Road as being likely to be severely impacted by coastal erosion over the next 50 years.

(1)  Has work been undertaken on incorporating this information into the valuing and development of offsets for the proposed clearing for the land elements of Ocean Reef Marina?
