I refer to the tender for the design and location of the new building to be built on the Mount Hawthorn Primary School site and I ask, when and where the tender for this work was advertised?

Hon Sue Ellery replied:

The tender was advertised on the Tenders WA website 20 November 2017.

 

SCHOOLS — MOUNT HAWTHORN PRIMARY SCHOOL — FIG TREE REMOVAL

448. Hon Alison Xamon to the Minister for Education and Training:

I refer to the design and location of the new school building to be added to the Mount Hawthorn Primary School, and I ask:

(a)  were there any design considerations that required the fig tree to be removed;

(b)  will the Minister please detail these design considerations;

(c)  were any designs considered that included the retention of the fig tree;

INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL OF WESTERN AUSTRALIA — CAPACITY

458. Hon Alison Xamon to the Minister for Education and Training:

I refer to the current 600-student capacity of the International School of Western Australia (ISWA) and their publicly stated expectation that their capacity will remain at 600 after the move to the Doubleview Primary School site as per the Government’s decision to provide a like-for-like facility, and I ask:

Greens stand with community as 1000 object to clearing at Lemnos Street

Greens Member for North Metropolitan Region Hon Alison Xamon MLC has today strongly urged the Government to listen to the will of the community and scrap plans to clear 50 per cent of bushland at the Shenton Park Rehabilitation Hospital development site.

Ms Xamon yesterday revealed through questions in Parliament that the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation received 1,001 submissions opposing clearing permit application CPS 7781/1, which would facilitate the clearing of 1.52ha of Banksia woodland at Lemnos Street.

SHENTON PARK REHABILITATION HOSPITAL REDEVELOPMENT SITE — BUSHLAND CLEARING — LEMNOS STREET

I refer to clearing permit application CPS 7781/1 regarding the clearing of 1.52 hectares of banksia woodland at Lemnos Street.

(1)  How many public submissions were received?

(2)  How many of that number supported the application for clearing?

(3)  How many opposed it?
