POLICE — DIVERSE SEXUALITY AND GENDER COMMUNITY — BRIEFING NOTE

I refer to the draft briefing paper, “Western Australia Police Force assessment of crime trends based on prejudice towards the diverse sexuality and gender community” and to the recommendation that the Western Australia Police Force review policy and practices to identify impacts and barriers to services provision by the diverse sexuality and gender community.

(1)  Has any review being undertaken?

(2)  If yes to (1), when was the review undertaken, and will the minister please provide a copy of the review report?

(3)  If no to (1), why not?

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question. The following answer has been provided to me by the Minister for Police.

(1)  No.

(2)  Not applicable.

(3)  The draft briefing note was prepared by a former employee. The draft has not been reviewed or endorsed by any senior Western Australia Police Force employee, and no agency stance regarding the content has been developed.
