5498. Hon Alison Xamon to the Minister for Mines and Petroleum

I refer to containment ponds for produced water in all onshore gas operations in Western Australia, and I ask —

(1) How many instances of containment pond breaches occurred in —

(a) 1996 — 2000;
(b) 2001 — 2005;
(c) 2006 — 2010;
(d) 2011; and
(e) to date in 2012?

(2) What actions were taken to remedy the environmental effect of any such breaches?
