NATIONAL DISABILITY INSURANCE SCHEME — SERVICE PROVIDERS

2031. Hon Alison Xamon to the Minister for Disability Services:

I refer to service providers who have completed the registration process to deliver National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) services in Western Australia, and I ask:

(a)  of the 700 registered NDIS providers in Western Australia, how many are actively providing NDIS services;

(b)  what supports are in place to help people navigate which providers to use; and

(c)  when will the Safety and Quality Commission be operational in Western Australia?

Hon Stephen Dawson replied:

(a)–(b) This information is held by the National Disability Insurance Agency.

(c) I am advised that the Quality and Safeguards Commission (the Commission) is a new independent agency established to implement anationally consistent quality and safeguarding framework for NDIS participants. The Commission will start managing quality and safeguards, including NDIS provider registration, in Western Australia from 1 July 2020.
