1942. Hon Alison Xamon to the Minister for Energy representing the Minister for Education
I refer to the report in the West Australian newspaper on 25 February 2010, on page 6 regarding cuts to the Department of Education’s Central and District Office staffing budgets, by the equivalent of 70 FTE positions and I ask —
(1) Could the Minister please provide details of where these cuts are being made?
(2) Which vacant positions (please provide job titles and FTE) will not be filled in order to make the cuts?
(3) Which non-permanent positions will not be renewed (please provide job titles and FTE)?
(4) Which programs will be cut or receive less funding?
Hon PETER COLLIER replied:
(1)- (3) There has been a reduction of 52.7 FTE as of 25 March 2010. This figure is comprised of 18.5 positions that have been abolished through the voluntary severance program; 17.35 permanent positions that have not been filled; and 16.85 non-permanent positions that have not been renewed. The reference to the 70 FTE is approximate and across the financial year 2009-2010.
