Greens call for Inquiry into suicide

WA Greens spokesperson for Mental Health Alison Xamon has today called for a WA inquiry into suicide prevention.
The call came during a debate in Parliament today over the State Suicide Prevention Plan.
“Suicides are preventable tragedies, yet the suicide rate is higher than the road toll,” Ms Xamon said.
“Too many people in our community are suffering grief and trauma as the result of the suicide death of a loved one.
“Young Aboriginal people in particular continue to be especially vulnerable.
